BIOADRIA PROJECT GENERAL AIMS

  • create a trans-Adriatic cooperation with organic farmer associations, aiming to provide or develop services, based on EU standards, for the agricultural enterprises in order to improve their technical, entrepreneur and commercial capacities;
  • develop commercial circuits of organic food products in the Adriatic area, to exploit complementary possibilities, and to define joint commercial strategies towards Europe as well as towards the Mediterranean area;
  • set up a permanent collaboration network especially focused on providing information (agro-technical, commercial, certification, best practices etc.) for producers, in order to elaborate common development strategies in the area.

The general goal of the INTERREG IIIA Adriatic New Neighbourhood Programme INTERREG/CARDS-PHARE, is the "promotion of social and economic development and cooperation between the Countries of the Adriatic Area". Therefore, it is an instrument that can contribute more than any other to the creation of an Adriatic Euro-Region.

The Italian partners of BIOADRIA belong to the 7 Italian Adriatic Regions (the so-called IARs), while foreign partners (which together are referred to as EACs: Eastern Adriatic Countries) are coming from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia.

The programme aims to increase awareness by the local communities involved of their belonging to one Adriatic community, whose creation is the goal of the programme. Therefore, BIOADRIA aims to activate trans-Adriatic cooperation with organic farmers’ associations aiming to provide or develop services, based on EU standards for the agricultural enterprises in order to improve their technical, entrepreneur and commercial capacities.
